My Trip to Dollar General

I went over to DG this morning to see what I could do with the $5 off a $25 purchase.

This is what I bought:
4 Mott’s Apple Sauce packs $2
2 Glade Twin Oil packs $5
1 Glade Warmer plug in $1.25
1 Pup-Peroni Dog Treat $3
Small Package of Oreos $1.50
1 Package of bandaids $1
Cracker and Cheese Dips $1.35
Total $26.10

Coupons Used:
$5 off a $25 purchase
$1.10 Off 2 Mott’s Apple Sauce or Medley (2 of these)
$1.25 off on any ONE bag of Pup-Peroni dog snacks
$1.00 off Glade PlugIns Scented Oil warmer
B1G1 Glade Plugins Scented Oil Twin Refill, exp. 8/25/12 (SS 07/15/12)
Final Price $12, a savings of $14.45

I was in a hurry and was kind of frustrated. They were out of the $1 Ziplocks, I forgot my back up coupons at home, and I couldn’t decide what the best way to get to $25 from $22.75 with what coupons I did have with me. I bought a box of bandaids from the $1 section. We are low or they’re lost, and that box has 100 pieces in it which works for me.

And I think we can see that the rest of the food (the oreos and crackers I bought without coupons) will be demolished fairly quickly. This little man LOVES applesauce.

I thought about buying the Gas-X, it was $2.65 and I had a $1.25 off coupon, which would have made my savings better, but I’d rather have the Oreos because I’ll actually eat those! I just try to be careful to not buy something I won’t use or don’t need. Even if I have a coupon for it.
