Big Mac Recipe


Ready for a the Big Mac sauce recipe!?  McDonald’s officially put a video out about their sauce and how to make it.  Of course, the chef only gives ingredients to create a sauce “like” the McDonald’s one, and he doesn’t give quantities.  But I figured I could recreate it at home.

All this talk makes you want one, doesn’t it?  Well, here we go! First, and most importantly, you will need Big Mac Sauce.  It’s what sells 550 million of these every year… that secret sauce :)

You will need mayonnaise, white wine vinegar, mustard, garlic and onion powder, paprika, and sweet relish.  Ignore the dill relish in the photo.  I had 2 relish jars and just grabbed the one closest to me.  The sauce wants SWEET relish.   I also didn’t have white wine vinegar and didn’t want to make a trip to the store just for a teaspoon, so I used regular white vinegar.

Mix it all together. Keep tasting it til you get it juuuuust right. I had to add a little more mayo to mine.  Then I added more paprika, and then a little more relish.  Meanwhile…

Cook up some hamburgers on the stove. Add some salt and pepper.

Cut the top off a hamburger bun to make the club.

Get your buns toasted, lettuce and onions chopped and ready for assembly.

We were going to eat these with some fries… but they were so good and filling we didn’t bother with anything else but a cold Coke.

Big Mac Sauce Recipe

1/2 cup mayo
1.5 tbsp sweet relish
1 tbsp yellow mustard
1/2 tbsp white wine vinegar
1.5 tsp paprika
1.5 tsp onion powder
1.5 tsp garlic powder

Mix all ingredients together and then take a taste.  Add ingredients as you see fit.  This recipe makes enough for about 4 Big Macs.

Big Mac Ingredients

Hamburger
Sesame Buns
Shredded lettuce
Diced onion
Hamburger pickles
American Cheese

Shape beef into patties. Cook on stove until lightly browned. Slice lettuce finely, dice onion.  Cut the top off one of the buns, this will be the club piece. Toast buns. Put sauce on bottom bun and top of the club. Add onion and lettuce to bottom bun and club pieces. Add patties to club and bottom bun, add cheese to bottom bun. Stack club on bottom bun and top club with the top bun.

  4. I followed your recipe exactly and the sauce turned out a deep red and tasted terrible. Are you sure those measurements are correct?

      When I made the Big Macs I went through every recipe I could find on the internet, watched a few videos, and then bought a couple Big Macs to compare. We had to play around with the recipe. Maybe try adding a little more mayo and not as much paprika??
